What is the PSEO Program?
The State of Minnesota, in cooperation with colleges throughout the state, offers students the opportunity to get a head start on their college education through the Post-Secondary Enrollment Option (PSEO). PSEO is designed to encourage academically qualified high school students to consider completing high school requirements at the college level. By enrolling in classes at Crossroads College, students can complete both high school and college credits at the same time through this state-funded program.
Costs for tuition, fees, and books for Minnesota residents enrolled in non-sectarian PSEO courses at Crossroads College are covered by the State of Minnesota. This program has helped thousands of students get a jump-start on college careers while earning high school credit. It allows them to apply college credits to their high school diplomas.
The Crossroads College PSEO Student
Crossroads seeks to accept students who have a strong Christian commitment, who are ready for the rigors of college work, and who have the maturity and social skills needed to be successful in the college setting. All these elements are weighed when Admissions reviews applicants for admission to the PSEO program.
To be eligible for the PSEO program at Crossroads College, students must:
- Be a Minnesota resident.
- Be a Junior or Senior in a public school, private school, or home school.
- Have a cumulative High School GPA of 3.0.
Living on Campus
If you would like to live on campus, you must complete a PSEO Residency Application. To be eligible to live in College housing, you must be at least 17 years old, enrolled full-time at Crossroads, and be in your senior year of high school. This cost is the responsibility of the student. Crossroads does not have an on-campus food service program, so food cost and preparation are the responsibility of the student.
PSEO students will receive college credit for courses they pass according to the usual standards of the college and are subject to the college's policies regarding dates for adding or dropping classes.
The Crossroads College schedules and calendar differ from the high school schedules and calendars. Students enrolled simultaneously at Crossroads and high school must meet the requirements of both schedules, such as attending Crossroads classes even if the high school is on break. PSEO students are also required to attend all Fall Orientation sessions. Students or their parents are responsible for transportation to the Crossroads campus.
PSEO Program Costs
Costs for tuition, fees, and books for Minnesota residents enrolled in non-sectarian PSEO courses at Crossroads College are covered by the State of Minnesota. PSEO students may also enroll in sectarian courses (i.e. Bible, theology, or ministry related courses) through Crossroads College at a tuition rate of $100 per credit hour. Tuition for these courses would be paid by the student. Those accepted to live on campus would pay the regular housing cost of $2,075 per semester.
The Admissions Office of Crossroads College will accept PSEO applications through August 1st for the Fall semester and December 1st for the Spring semester. Students considering this option are encouraged to begin the application process as soon as possible.
